Short Bio:
Greek Jazz Vocalist Irini Konstantinidi currently based in The Hague (Netherlands), explores the colorful aspects of the voice as an improvising instrument in jazz music.
She holds a Bachelor degree in Pedagogy from the University of Athens and she's now a Master's student in Jazz Vocals at Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag.
A really active vocalist in her hometown with many jazz projects and lots of collaborations, she has participated in many Jazz festivals and has released two albums with her project THE WONDERFALL QUARTET, singing original music of a European Jazz style, in which she was writing the lyrics. The quartet has managed to introduce a new sound and get established as a distinctive fresh voice of the Greek Jazz discography.
The group's second album called HORIZON (2014) has been receiving excellent reviews and was awarded as the Best Greek Jazz Album of 2014 and the quartet as the Best Greek Jazz Group of 2014, at JazzOnLine.gr portal.
Irini has also been performing with her project JAZZ BOUND, aiming to create diverse musical or sonic environments and a constant interplay with improvisational competence and imagination, upon a jazz standards repertoire, in order to explore the modern means of musical dialogue and the joy of instant creativity, that the art of jazz improvisation is vastly offering.
