Matteo Costanzi
Matteo Costanzi started to study oboe when he was 8 at the Music school in Spoleto with the oboist Paolo Puliti. In 2007 he was admitted directly to the last year of bachelor at the conservatory ''G. Briccialdi'' in Terni where he studied with Andrea Mion and he got his diploma in oboe with the maximum grade (10/10). From 2008 to 2010 he studied in Florence with Thomas Indermuhle and, in the meantime, he won the audition as oboist of the Italian Youth Orchestra.
In September 2010 he started studying at the Hogeschool van der Kunsten in Utrecht in the Master of oboe (specialization for Orchestra and Chamber music) with the teacher Ernest Rombout. He also studied baroque oboe with Frank de Bruine.
In May 2012 he got his Master Degree in Music Performance. He participated in Masterclasses with the oboists Pollastri, Incagnoli, Santorsola and Indermuhle and he also participated at a Masterclass for chamber music where he worked with the conductors Shambadal and Garbarino.
In the Netherlands he partecipated in masterclasses with the Combattimento Consort and with Hans Wolters.
Job experience
Matteo has both teaching and performing experiences. In Italy he was giving private oboe lessons and in the Netherlands he worked at the CKC Zoetermeer giving lessins of "Instrumentale Verkenning".
As a performer Matteo Costanzi collaborated with several orchestras both in Italy and in the Netherlands. In Italy he worked with the Orchestra Regione Toscana, the Orchestra Cherubini and the Italian Youth Orchestra and he collaborated with important conductors like Gianandrea Noseda and John Axelrod, with whom he perfomed a concert at the Ravenna Festival together with the pianists Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang.
He also played in several chamber music ensembles (duo, trio, quartets, quintets and small chamber music orchestra's) playing a vast repertoire that goes from the baroque period to the contemporary music. In 2009 he performed a concerto as soloist playing a baroque repertoire for the XVII Stagione Concertistica di Spoleto.
In the Netherlands he plays regularly with the Camerata Amsterdam, the ensemble Musica Michaelis and with the Holland Orkest Combinatie. He also played with ensembles like the Stichting kamermuziek Utrecht, the Camerata Terra Reno, the orchestra Nieuw Philarmonie Utrecht, the Nieuwe Ensemble. In the summer of 2014 Matteo was invited to play in the Schloss Schõnbrunn in Vienna in occasion of the Mahler Festival.
From 2014 he has been playing in the woodwinds wind quartet Quatriola Ensemble, performing music of the XIX and XX century and with this ensemble he performs concerts in collaboration with Stichting Muziek in Huis and Live Music Now.
